Avatar of Shabnam Dhar

Nikita Luther impressed many as the first Indian Woman Poker Player when she won her first World Series of Poker bracelets in the #55 $1000NLH Tag Team Event. It was difficult owing to the fact that several highly experienced poker pros joined the final table. She has made a partnership with a German player named Giuseppe Pantaleo for winning the event. Both of them received a significant $175,805 cash prize, which they divided among themselves.

Luther has participated in other major poker events from where she gained her experience and exposure. This includes the WSOP 2018 Event #34: $1000 Double Stack NLH, where she was placed at 525th position, which came with a cash prize of $ 2,038. She was in Event #54: Big Blind Antes $3,000, finishing the 17th position for $18,495.

Luther and Pantaleo developed towards more advanced conditions with their poker skills; they were able to enter the Day 3 of Event #55 with 260,000 chips. They had an uphill task, that of beating a field of 28 remaining teams in order to be the winners. Eventually, they were able to reach the final table, facing the gifted Kazuki Ikeuchi –Hiroki Iwata-Sho Mori’s team. Luther and Pantaleo proved to be more advanced ones than both of them at the 2nd position rivals. They adopted an aggressive strategy that made them emerge as the winners.

Luther and Pateleo competed with Iwata’s team that all-in preflop was moved by Pantaleo with pocket deuces. The deuces were 2 of diamond and 2 of heart. Iwata was calling with A and 9 of Diamond. Both Pantaleo and Luther became the winners of the event, as the Flop finally appeared with an Ace and the river was showing 2.

Luther became one of the best female poker players in India with all her achievements. This talented player had their first brush with poker while she was in college. She, later on, developed a deep passion for this game. She has been into poker professionally for the last two years.

Her love for poker has taken her to various international poker tournaments across the world. She first took part in the $3000 NLHE event of the 2017 WSOP, where she won $8,173 by reaching the 71st position. She took part in the WPT5OO Aria in the same year, where she was able to finish the 5th position. From the game, she gained $65,000 as a cash prize.
